Slow Food Whidbey Island has a very special Cooking Workshop coming up! Our very own Marcy Gaston, MS, RD, CD, a licensed nutritionist, will be doing a class on the Wonderful World of Lentils. She will teach us about the history of lentils as well as how to prepare an amazing array of dishes with these versatile little buds. Marcy has written a book called, “Lentils, the Gems of the Pantry” which will be available for sale and signing at a discounted price. All the members of the Slow Food Cooking Workshop Committee are preparing dishes for you to sample during the program including everything from stews to hummus to cake. The price is $15.00 per person which includes a free raffle ticket to win one of Marcy’s Cookbooks. Please RSVP to kathy46@whidbey.com to reserve your spot.
