Join the musicians of Whidbey’s Saratoga Orchestra in celebration of Whidbey's Earth & Ocean Month. Rhythms of Nature II is presented Sunday April 2, 3:00pm at Oak Harbor Methodist Church. The program features chamber music for percussion, winds and strings including Minus Nine by David Madiera, a musical representation of the beautiful and exotic world revealed during low tide on Puget Sound. Other works include, In a Treeless place, only Snow, composed by John Luther Adams, refers to a type of stone marker that the Inuit peoples use to orient themselves in Arctic spaces and Earthscape by David Marlatt is a lyrical piece inspired by the view of our planet from space. Members of The Four Voices will be on hand reading their poetry and prose throughout the program.
