Slow Food Whidbey Island is hosting a family summer BBQ workshop on Sunday August 27th from 12-4pm at Camp Casey at the Seattle Pacific University on Engle Rd. in Coupeville. Fred and Barbara Bennett of Sho-Nuff Foods (just the best BBQ on the island!) in Oak Harbor will demonstrate how to cook the perfect BBQ. The cost is $15.00 per person, children under 12 can share a plate and kids under 5 are free and that includes a plate of 2 different BBQ meats, , beans and cole slaw. Slow Foods will also be selling sweet treats to complete your meal. This event will be fun for the whole family with food, beach exploration and an open field where you can fly your kites, play outdoor games, or just kick back on a picnic blanket and enjoy the beautiful Pacific Northwest.
