June 2022 marks the 80th Anniversary of the Battle of Midway, regarded as the turning point of WWII in the Pacific Theater.
On Friday, the Pacific Northwest Naval Air Museum hosts a Commemoration Ceremony recognizing this signal WWII event. Patrol aircraft in the form of a PBY-5A Catalina spotted the Japanese carrier force at Midway to give our carrier force a tactical advantage in the ensuing battle. Fittingly, our speaker will be CDR James Rankin, Chief Staff Officer, Patrol and Reconnaissance Wing 10. The ceremony will be held in the shadow of the Museum's PBY-5A Catalina aircraft.
