Please RSVP to info@pnwnam.org or 360-240-9500.\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n\n \n\n August's Speaker\n\n CAPT Thomas "Lurch" Lovett\, USN\n\n Commanding Officer VAQ-144\n \n \n \n\n \n \n\n \n \n \n A native of Pittsburgh\, PA\, Captain Lovett graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP). Following three years as an enlisted Electronics Technician he entered OCS at Pensacola\, FL receiving his commission in 1999. He was winged as a Naval Flight Officer in January 2001.CAPT Lovett has served as CO of VAQ - 131 and as Air Boss on the USS NIMITZ (CVN 68) In January of 2022\, CAPT Lovett became the first Commanding Officer of the newly formed VAQ-144. \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n \n \n\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n \n \n\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n How do you build a naval air squadron from scratch?\n\n \n\n CAPT Lovett will describe the process of standing up Naval Air Squadron VAQ-144. Why a new squadron? Where do the people and planes come from? What will the squadron's insignia be? Nickname? Where to once certified for operations?
